Meet Our Team
Kelly McBryde, Chief Executive Officer
As co-founder and principal of UltraGroup, Kelly brings a strong hospital operations background to the outsourcing industry. He has worked with several private and publicly traded companies including HCA and HealthTrust, as well as has served as CEO of small rural hospitals and large tertiary facilities. His responsibilities have also included a 120 bed psychiatric hospital which is still a regional leader in service line development and clinical modeling. With a BS from Tennessee Tech and an MHA from Duke University, Kelly has provided strategic and operating management services to numerous businesses and healthcare ventures for over 30 years.
Karen Fauer, Chief Financial Officer
As co-founder and principal of UltraGroup, Karen has served as the Chief Financial officer since 1998. Directing the firm’s financial services, including cost report analysis, financial projections, coding audits, and hospital charge-master reviews, Karen brings a broad array of “real world” experiences, including serving as CFO in a rural hospital. Additionally, she served as Corporate Controller for a multi-hospital system and was responsible for the financial management and reporting of all the system’s small rural hospitals. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She is a CPA, and has over 20 years experience in health care auditing and consulting.
Gerald (Jerry) McFadden, LCSW - Vice President of Operations
Jerry has over 30 years of experience in social work and case management in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment settings. He has worked with adult and geriatric populations, and consulted in long term care. Following his development of and directing a very successful UltraGroup program that proved to be a vast resource to the hospital and community, Jerry joined the UltraGroup staff as a regional director. Soon thereafter, he was elevated to his current position where he is responsible for all existing clinical operations. Jerry earned a BS in Psychology from SEMO State University, Cape Girardeau Mo. and a Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Jerry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor.
Mary Massena,LCSW - Regional Director
As a Regional Director for UltraGroup, Mary provides essential clinical, management, leadership skills ,and regulatory knowledge. She has strong hospital experience having worked in crisis response, case management, social services, intensive out patient, and inpatient psychiatric units. She has worked as the manager of IOPs’ and Inpatient units and spent several years providing clinical psychotherapy in hospital based programs, community mental health centers, nd private practice settings. Mary received her BA in Sociology from Greenville College and her Masters in Social Work from Saint Louis University, with a specialization in clinical practice, and has obtained her clinical licensure.
Sherri Shaw,MS, LPC, NCC - Regional Director
Sherri is the Southeast Regional Director for UltraGroup. For over twenty years, she has provided behavioral health services to those in both rural and urban settings. She has served in key leadership roles in both CAHs and one of the largest behavioral health facilities in the United States. This experience allows her to offer insights, practical applications, and assistance to allow hospitals to better serve seniors. She is also a certified instructor for Non-Crisis Prevention Institute. Sherri graduated from Troy University where she received her MS degrees in both counseling and psychology. She also received her Ph.D in forensic psychology from Auburn University.
Steve Triplett,LCSW - Regional Director
Steve serves as a Regional Director, bringing 20 years of experience in behavioral health and geriatrics to UltraGroup. He has worked with several state agencies and private companies to provide, expand, and enhance services to the elderly populations, especially in rural areas. Steve has extensive experience in group and individual counseling and works closely with all members of the treatment teams. He earned his Bachelors degree in Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University and his Masters in Social Work from the University of Kentucky.
Teresa Miller,LCSW - Business Development
Teresa oversees the UltraGroup’s Business Development activities and works closely with numerous hospital associations. She is a certified instructor for Non-Crisis Prevention Institute and provides seminars on multiple topics as well as clinical supervision for therapists. Teresa has provided ER mental health assessments for over 14 years and serves on several crisis response teams. Other work experience includes in-patient psychiatric therapist, home health and hospice therapy, as well as a lead therapist in several behavioral disorder centers. Teresa received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Work at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
Sheila Frazier,RN - Director of Performance Improvement
Sheila develops and revises policies and procedures to meet CMS and State regulations, assists with new program staff orientation and training, identifies opportunities for improvement in existing programs, and performs chart audits. She brings to UltraGroup the Nursing component with a broad range of experience from urban emergency rooms to rural home health, long term care to include case management, quality assurance, and educational training and leadership. Sheila graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with an Associate of Arts degree in Allied Health & Nursing and from McKendree University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ experience.
Wendy Riggs, RN - Regional Director/Nursing Education
Wendy provides clinical nursing guidance for staff in both the inpatient units as well as the intensive outpatient units. She performs chart audits, insures the programs are compliant with all CMS, state and regulatory body regulations, performs quality surveys and collaborates with program staff to problem solve. Wendy also provides educational trainings for both new and current program staff. She has worked in adult, geriatric, child and adolescent mental health for the past 9 years both as a floor nurse and in administration. Wendy has a strong background in policy writing and staff education. She is also the Regional Director for Northern Indiana and Ohio. Wendy graduated from Lincoln Land Community College with an Associates of Arts degree in Allied Health & Nursing and from Chamberlain College of Nursing with both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master’s of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Administration. Wendy obtained her ANCC board certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing in 2012.
Phillip Cook, MEd, Regional Director
As a Regional Director, Phillip brings over thirty years experience at all levels of behavioral healthcare. He has served as CEO for large and small behavioral health hospitals including private and state facilities. Turn-around of under-performing facilities has become a particular focus through his career. Strengths include developing medical staffs and leadership teams by focusing on performance improvement models to help boost both clinical and financial operations. Strategic planning with follow through is seen as key to sustained growth. Phillip's training includes an MEd from Georgia State University and Certificate from Richmond University, focusing on integration of theology and psychology.
