(Salem, KY) The New Beginnings Program at Livingston Hospital and Health Services was delighted to host its Mental Health Open House on May 16th from 10 am to 2 pm. The event, aimed at raising awareness and providing valuable insights into mental health, featured guest speakers Jessi Sigler, APRN, PMHNP-BC, and Jennifer Johnson, APRN, FNP-BC. Attendees participated in engaging discussions on mental and physical health, had the opportunity to tour the facility, and were able to ask questions to the program’s knowledgeable staff.
The event saw a wonderful turnout, with 22 participants, including visitors, speakers, and staff. Jessi Sigler emphasized the importance of recognizing mental health symptoms early, while Jennifer Johnson highlighted the connection between physical activity and mental well-being, suggesting that even a 15-minute daily walk can significantly improve one's mood and overall health. The atmosphere was both informative and welcoming, with former clients in attendance, fostering a sense of community and support.
In addition to the insightful presentations, the first 20 attendees received goodie bags, and Carey O’Keefe was the lucky winner of the gift basket drawing. The speakers were also shown appreciation with special gift bags. Refreshments were provided and participants could network and share their experiences. The success of the open house reflects New Beginnings' commitment to promoting holistic wellness, encompassing mental, physical, and spiritual health.
