Senior Life Solutions at Taylorville Memorial Hospital has recently begun "My Day" during their nursing education sessions. One patient is selected to spotlight and given the opportunity to talk about activities or hobbies that they enjoy. Patients have brought in in painting supplies and canvases to share, allowing everyone in the group to paint. A baker brought his favorite cook book, talked about favorite desserts and shared stories related to his baking. One woman brought flowers and assisted her peers in making floral arrangements. Not only do patient's enjoy having the spotlight for the day but their peers enjoy learning more about them as well.
