(Pinckneyville, IL) The Senior Life Solutions program at Pinckneyville Community Hospital has offered their patients time to work on puzzles during breaks in their treatment programming. The patients have been working extremely hard during their 15-minute breaks and lunch breaks to work on these puzzles. Once they have completed the puzzles, program staff will display them on the unit for patients to see their hard work. Patients have been highly engaged in this activity and have even begun doing puzzles at home in their spare time. Patients who have previously not been engaged in the program or have not participated in activities in the past have been active in these activities since starting them.
The program has also begun displaying flower arrangements on and outside their unit to much appreciation from their patients. Patients and staff have thoroughly enjoyed the color the flowers bring inside and outside the program.
