(Corydon, IN) The Senior Care Program at Harrison County Hospital is thrilled to welcome Dashira Griffith, LCSW, to the team. Dashira brings over seven years of experience as a counselor, with a strong background in working with diverse populations, including minorities and low-income families. Her practice spans across multiple age groups, from children and adolescents to adults, seniors, couples, and families. Dashira holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Louisville, and she draws upon a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of her clients. She employs a person-centered approach, incorporating evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Dashira’s therapeutic philosophy centers on empowering her clients by helping them identify their core issues, exploring what strategies work best for them, and implementing effective tools to address their challenges. She works with individuals to build coping skills that reduce symptoms, foster self-awareness, and ultimately achieve personal growth. Dashira takes pride in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can feel supported as they work towards their goals. Her approach is grounded in research-based practices that nurture strengths and promote meaningful change.
Dashira has called Corydon home for the past decade. Originally from Panama, she is an Afro-Latina woman who has been living in the United States for over 15 years. Dashira is passionate about her career and views her work as a calling, deeply committed to supporting others in their journey of emotional and psychological well-being. In her free time, Dashira enjoys dancing, spending time in nature, and cherishing moments with her two children.
