Extra Mile


Do you go the extra mile for your clients, your co-workers, your referral sources?


Below are some examples of how you can go the extra mile:


- Clients

  • Soothing music being played as patients walk in the door for check-in.

  • Taking the time to ask about their families and loved ones.

  • Having their favorite snacks available during break times.


- Co-Workers

  • Asking if there is anything you can do to help them with their job.

  • Remember their birthday and do something special for them.

  • Get to know your co-workers outside of the professional setting if possible.


- Referral Sources

  • Bring goodies (snacks, treats, etc.) when visiting them.

  • Over communicate about the patients that they have referred.

  • Follow-up about former patients to show that you care about the patients.


Going that extra mile can have significantly positive impacts on the relationships that you have. I challenge you to come up with your own “Extra Mile Efforts.”
