Below are some examples of how you can go the extra mile:
Soothing music being played as patients walk in the door for check-in.
Taking the time to ask about their families and loved ones.
Having their favorite snacks available during break times.
Asking if there is anything you can do to help them with their job.
Remember their birthday and do something special for them.
Get to know your co-workers outside of the professional setting if possible.

Bring goodies (snacks, treats, etc.) when visiting them.
Over communicate about the patients that they have referred.
Follow-up about former patients to show that you care about the patients.
