Sudha Mogali Patel, M.D., DFAPA

We are very happy to announce that Sudha M. Patel, M.D. was recently elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. The Distinguished Fellowship Award is awarded to outstanding psychiatrists who have made significant contributions to the psychiatric profession in at least five of the following areas: administration, teaching, scientific and scholarly publications, volunteering in mental health and medical activities of social significance, community involvement as well as clinical excellence. Distinguished Fellow is the highest membership honor the American Psychiatric Association bestows upon its members.


Dr. Patel received her Doctorate of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN where she graduated with high honors and entered into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her psychiatric residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and specializes in treatment of neuropsychiatric and geriatric disorders.


She currently serves as the Medical Director for several UltraGroup programs including Breckinridge Memorial Hospital's Tranquility Program, Carroll County Memorial Hospital's Empowered Living, Harrison County Hospital's Senior Care and Salem Township Hospital's New Beginnings. She also provides psychiatric consultation at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg and Fordsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers, as well as Heartland Villa Nursing Home in Lewisport, KY.
