Welcoming Roxan Andrews: New Program Director of the Erlanger Active Senior Enrichment Program

(Murphy, NC) We are thrilled to welcome Roxan Andrews as the new Program Director for the Erlanger Active Senior Enrichment Program at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital. Roxan brings with her an impressive 42 years of nursing experience, along with a passion for lifelong learning and service, qualities that perfectly align with our mission to support the well-being of seniors in our community.

Born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Roxan has spent much of her life in the state, but her journey has taken her across the country—and the world—courtesy of the U.S. Army. Having lived in Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Okinawa, she gained valuable insights from her upbringing as an "army brat," with one lesson standing out above all: "change happens." This mindset has not only shaped her career but also her approach to leading others through life's transitions.

Roxan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Science in Leadership (MSL) from Grand Canyon University. As a dedicated nurse for over four decades, Roxan has experienced some of life’s most profound moments—welcoming new lives into the world and supporting individuals and families during end-of-life care. For her, nursing is more than a career; it's an opportunity to help people face and overcome the physical challenges of the human experience.

Her favorite quote, from Eleanor Roosevelt, reflects her bold spirit: “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face—you must do the things you think you cannot do.” This mantra has guided her through years of personal and professional growth, and she’s eager to bring that same courage and confidence to her new role.

Under Roxan’s leadership, the Erlanger Active Senior Enrichment Program will continue to thrive as a beacon of support for our senior population, helping them navigate the physical and emotional changes that come with aging.

Please join us in welcoming Roxan Andrews to the UltraGroup family! We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make on the community.
