Program Showcase

Northwest Florida Community Hospital
The program presented on promoting mental health within the community—the first spotlight event showcasing the hospital's efforts in engaging with its community. Northwest Florida Community Hospital was selected for this event, particularly because of how these efforts have not only benefited their community to promote mental health in a way that reduces stigma, but the efforts also had a secondhand effect of achieving a referral count nearly three times higher than the average across all reporting programs. If you were unable to attend the event, you may view the recording here.
"A referral count nearly 3x higher than the average across all programs"
Thanks to Connie Smelcer and Jennifer Hall from Northwest Florida Community Hospital for creating this presentation and for generously sharing ideas and ongoing guidance with others interested in replicating their approaches.
Share how your program is going above and beyond to increase referrals, maintaining a strong rate of attendance that yields high conversion rates from admission to graduation, or other success stories. Let your regional director know. You may be selected for the next showcase!

Serving Up Smiles
At A Community Meal
There’s nothing quite like a good meal shared among friends—and this dedicated group of volunteers made sure no one went hungry. This past month, staff from Horizon Health’s Senior Care Program gathered at the Paris fellowship hall to serve a delicious homemade meal as part of the local soup kitchen outreach.
From hearty soups simmering in slow cookers to trays of fresh bread and sweet treats, the day was filled with warmth and kindness. The team worked together seamlessly to prepare, serve, and share food with those who came through the doors.
“This is what community is all about—coming together to serve others,” said Terra Ogle, LCSW – Program Director of Senior are. “It’s a blessing to be part of something that brings comfort and care to our neighbors.”
The soup kitchen remains a cornerstone of compassion in Paris, providing not only food but also friendship and fellowship to all who attend. Special thanks to everyone who donated ingredients, volunteered time, or simply showed up to lend a helping hand. Your generosity keeps this mission alive!

Celebrating Rural Healthcare
The ICAHN Annual Conference
Earlier this month, UltraGroup was honored to be a Preferred Sponsor at the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) Annual Conference, held on November 3rd and 4th. Representing UltraGroup were Kenna Dunlap Johnson, LCSW, and Allen Creamean, LCPC, who enjoyed connecting with hospital leaders and partners from across Illinois.
The conference offered a wonderful opportunity for Critical Access Hospital leadership to meet, collaborate, and learn together, all while celebrating the incredible work being done to strengthen healthcare in rural communities.
We’re proud to support ICAHN’s mission and to stand alongside so many dedicated professionals who share our passion for restoring hope and improving lives.
