Angela Ammons named “Hospital Leader of the Year” at HomeTown Health 19th Annual Fall Conference
HomeTown Health, an organization of 70 rural hospitals in the Southeast, selected Angela Ammons, CEO of Clinch Memorial Hospital, as the recipient of the 2018 Hospital Leader of the Year award at the HomeTown Health 19th Annual Conference held at Callaway Gardens on October 17-19, 2018.
“For exemplary leadership and dedication to patient care, employee excellence, and efforts leading to the survival of Clinch Memorial Hospital in Homerville, Georgia,” stated HomeTown’s CEO, Jimmy Lewis as he announced this coveted award. “Angela has done what some say is impossible in terms of creating collaborations including local community citizens, local industries as well as other rural hospitals like Miller County Hospital, as a part of the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant. All of this has strengthened her networking skills that, in turn, make Clinch Memorial Hospital a stronger rural hospital,” he added.
This award is presented by HomeTown Health to individuals who exhibit extraordinary talents and skills in positively influencing the delivery of health care in Georgia. “The amount of work, dedication and perseverance that Angela and her team at Clinch Memorial put forth towards their determination in maintaining appropriate services to their community and their engagement with their citizens and patients is what successful rural healthcare can look like when led by passionate leadership,” says Jimmy Lewis, CEO, HomeTown Health, LLC.
Jefferson Hospital Named 2018 Hospital of the Year by HomeTown Health, LLC
HomeTown Health, LLC recognized Jefferson Hospital as the “Hospital of the Year” at its 19th Annual Fall Conference at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia from among 70 hospital members across the Southeast. Jefferson Hospital was chosen for providing exemplary leadership by adopting “Best Practices” for rural hospital improvement, and making a commitment to staff education, advocating to state policymakers while emphasizing technological advances and superior patient care.
“The team at Jefferson Hospital has done an outstanding job in working for the good of their patients, community and staff. They have worked with their local commissioners and successfully passed a referendum with 80% of the vote to increase taxes which will significantly impact the hospital. Also, they launched a successful campaign to engage dollars through the Rural Hospital Tax Credit program to financially support their hospital which has set the tone for what success in that program can and will look like for participating hospitals. Beyond that, they are committed to excellence in every sense of the word throughout the entire scope of their service lines.” says Jimmy Lewis, CEO of HomeTown Health.
