Hospital Week 2025
The Senior Advantage Team Suited Up
During the past year, Mason District Hospital brought energy, color, and plenty of superhero spirit to its halls with this year’s theme: #HealthcareHeroes. Departments across the organization were encouraged to dress up and celebrate the incredible work happening every day—and the Senior Advantage Department absolutely delivered.
In the photo, the Senior Advantage team proudly poses in their capes and superhero tees. Standing front and center is Dr. Alexander, confidently embracing the theme! Each team member represents not only superhero flair, but also their shared commitment to uplifting and supporting the patients they serve.
The Senior Advantage group is known for its warmth, creativity, and dedication, and their participation in Hospital Week this past year highlighted exactly that. Their enthusiasm brought smiles to staff and patients alike, reminding everyone that heroes don’t always wear capes—but during Hospital Week, they certainly can.
This lively celebration was a wonderful way for Mason District Hospital to honor the compassion, teamwork, and resilience of its staff—true heroes in every sense of the word.

Gratitude Takes Center Stage
Mason District Hospital’s Senior Advantage Program
A heartwarming burst of color and creativity has officially taken over the group room at Mason District Hospital’s Senior Advantage Program—thanks to a very festive feathered friend and the artistic leadership of Stacey Sheets, CNA/Unit Clerk.
Stacey invited program participants to join her in creating a Thanksgiving “Gratitude Turkey,” a bright, multi-colored masterpiece made entirely of construction paper, care, and genuine thankfulness. Each patient was encouraged to write one note of gratitude on a paper feather, which Stacey later arranged into the turkey’s full, glorious tail fan. The result? A dazzling display of what truly matters most.
Feathers flutter with messages of appreciation ranging from the heartfelt to the charmingly specific. Each sentiment adds a unique splash of personality, creating a collective portrait of hope, joy, and the small blessings that brighten daily life.
Now proudly mounted in the Senior Advantage group room, the Gratitude Turkey has quickly become a seasonal star. Staff and participants say it has sparked conversations, lifted spirits, and brought an extra layer of warmth to the program’s Thanksgiving celebrations.
Stacey’s thoughtful project proves that sometimes the simplest activities—paper, markers, and a moment to reflect—create the biggest impact. As the holiday season continues, the Gratitude Turkey stands tall (and very colorful), reminding everyone that gratitude grows best when shared.
At Mason District Hospital’s Senior Advantage Program, thankfulness isn’t just felt—it’s on full display, one vibrant feather at a time.
